What is the Circular Economy?
The circular economy is based on three principles:
(1) Design out waste and pollution
(2) Keep products and materials in use (3) Regenerate natural systems The circular economy presents a new way to design, make, and use things within the limits of our planet. Looking beyond the ‘take - make - waste’ industrial model, it aims to redefine growth by gradually decoupling economic activity from the consumption of finite resources, and designing out waste out of the system. Underpinned by a transition to renewable energy, the circular economy builds economic, natural, and social capital. |
