(additional details coming soon) Applying the Circular Economy Model to Your Business: An exploration in product and system re-design Are you curious about looking beyond the limitations of "sustainability" and toward a model that will help you design and manufacture products for an advanced 21st century economy? Have you heard about the circular economy, but aren't sure what it is and/or how to apply it to your business? Join us for a 4-hour workshop where we will explore how sustainable manufacturing can be developed and flourish in Seattle and the greater Puget Sound region leading to overall economic, social, and ecological well-being. Engineers, entrepreneurs, designers, manufacturers, supply chain managers, sustainability professionals, urban planners, city managers, farmers and others in agriculture, and others interested in learning about building the circular economy are encouraged to attend. Participants will engage in an interactive exercise on how to apply the principles of a circular economy to their business models and value chains. Participants will gain the knowledge, inspiration, and confidence to become partners in the regional circular economy; and will leave with valuable ideas on practical changes that can be undertaken to lead to a positive, lasting impact on business and the region. The workshop will be presented by Shari Welsh (Circular Design Solutions) and Silvia Leahu-Aluas (Sustainable Manufacturing Consulting). The agenda will include presentations on the following:
The workshop will be managed for low environmental impact by purchasing carbon offsets, and sourcing locally-made and recyclable/compostable materials for use during the event. Please pass this along to friends and colleagues who might be interested! We look forward to you joining us!
